IceneCares builds lasting solutions to global poverty and injustice. We work with allies in Canada and around the world to change the policies and practices that perpetuate human suffering. We support organizations in poor communities overseas in their struggle to secure basic rights. IceneCares's advocacy and campaigns for just policies are rooted in the knowledge and experience gained in that struggle.
IceneCares believes that people together can create a fair world, free of poverty and injustice. A fair world respects the basic rights of all human beings to: earn a decent living to support themselves and their families, enjoy basic education and health care, get help in life-threatening disasters, speak out for their rights and be treated as equal.

What We Do
IceneCares supports long-term development, advocacy and emergency programs in many countries around the world. Our core programs are located in the Americas and South Asia.
When people are blocked from opportunity, they often need to change laws, customs, and policies. Without these changes, real progress against poverty cannot be achieved. IceneCares's economic and political analysis helps us change the minds of powerful decision makers.
While IceneCares specializes in helping communities realize individualized solutions to their problems, our work takes on universal themes. From community to community and region to region, we see people facing like challenges—and pursuing like solutions to their needs.
IceneCares works with people to secure their basic human rights, combining support to long-term development and humanitarian responses with research, advocacy and campaigning against the root causes of poverty and injustice.
What You Can Do

Fundraising is an essential element of IceneCares that allows us to fund both overseas and Canadian programs. A significant amount of money is raised by the efforts of countless volunteers across the country.
Volunteering is a great way to be a part of our work. IceneCares is a volunteer based organization, with hundreds of people across the country, who are active in governance and policy development, fundraising and donating, volunteering and raising awareness of global issues in their communities.
